Facebook Home

On April 4, 2013, Facebook unveiled its answer to a question nobody asked: what if your entire phone were Facebook? Home replaced your lock screen and home screen with a feed of other people's posts, so you could see a stranger's baby before you could find your own calculator. It averaged 2.3 out of 5 on Google Play, with 48% of reviewers giving it one star. One critic warned it could give Facebook "unprecedented access" to your data, which, depending on who you asked, was the point. It got one last update around the end of 2013. Then, as the record puts it, "it was quietly discontinued."
