Everpix launched in 2011 as a cloud home for all your photos. It raised $1.8 million. It attracted fewer than 19,000 signups, of whom about 6,800 paid $4.99 a month or $49 a year. That is a wonderful conversion rate and a terrible business. The company could not raise more money and could not find anyone to buy it. It announced the end in November 2013 and went dark on December 15. Being good at something is no defense when only 6,800 people will pay for it. It is remembered fondly by all 6,800 of them.
