Twitter Moments

Twitter introduced Moments in October 2015 as a tab where its own editors would collect tweets into tidy stories about the news. It was a newspaper, built by a company whose product was busy killing newspapers. Ordinary users could not make one until September 2016, by which point they had stopped asking. The record has no usage numbers, and you can guess why. On December 7, 2022, weeks after Elon Musk bought the company, Twitter announced it was removing the ability to create new Moments "to focus on other experiences." There was no funeral. Nobody could find the tab to announce it in.
