Google Buzz

Google launched Buzz on February 9, 2010 and decided for you who your followers should be. It decided badly. One user reported that Buzz automatically added her abusive ex-boyfriend as a follower and showed him her conversations with a current partner. A privacy group said it "may have violated federal wiretap laws." Google agreed to an $8.5 million settlement fund and, with the FTC, to 20 years of independent privacy audits. It discontinued Buzz on December 15, 2011 to focus on Google+. Google+ is dead too. The audits will outlive them both.
